It's BBQ time again here in Florida or fast approaching that time, it was so hot today I had to take off my sneakers and put shorts and sandals on. The pool is still too cold to get in but we are watering all the plants every day...and soon the lawn will need to be mowed every 2 weeks...as the summer gets here it will be every 10 days it seems. I already have my new passion flower plant and kiwi planted along the fence in the hopes the vines will grow all over it. I know my cousin in New Hampshire is probably hoping the irises pop up thru the snow still but maybe someday she can move to Florida and I will help her pull weeds down here. Getting someone to help you pull weeds anywhere is a blessing and as our significant others get older and it is hard for them to bend over we certainly can't count on them for that. I like to think that someday all this hard work will pay off in big bushy vines laden with fruit as far as the passion fruit and kiwi is concerned. You just never know what the weather or bugs will do to your plants down here as a really bad hurricane can tear things up and so can a freeze. I would really like to be further south so I won't have to worry about anything getting hurt by a freeze but actually kiwis need cold weather or they won't bear fruit.
